PC DOS 7.0

IBM PC DOS Version 7.0 released in February 1995 further enhanced IBM's line of operating systems with improved usability, memory optimization, full-function utilities, and new hardware support. It requires less conventional memory than previous PC DOS 6.3 version for comparable functions. More conventional memory is available for user applications. Other enhancements include Central Point's Backup Utility, Phoenix Technology Laboratory's PCMCIA support, RAMBoost Memory Optimizer, and REXX programming language support.

In April 1998 IBM released the last update to its DOS line.
PC DOS 2000 added Y2K support and other memory and performance improvement features.
